Call for papers: "Advances in Computational Systems"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering.

Computational systems deal with the development and application of computational models and simulations, often coupled with high-performance computing, to solve complex physical problems arising in engineering analysis and design (computational engineering), as well as natural phenomena (computational science). It is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary field that uses advanced computing capabilities to understand and solve complex problems. Methodology is the theory of methods in recognising and reforming the world.

This special issue aims to collect contributions from analysts along with mathematicians, bioinformaticians, computational scientists and engineers to present and discuss the latest developments in different subareas of advancement in computational systems, ranging from databases applications to computational vaccine design, modelling and simulation and their application to basic and clinical immunology. This benefits the society in the following ways:
  • Providing an insight into underlying organisational principles of biological organisations and systems processes, governing functions such as adaptation or response patterns
  • Coverage of technical tools and systems helps researchers to understand and resolve specific systems problems using advanced computation
  • Understanding of dependencies and constraints of spatio-temporal relationships fundamental to the organisation.
Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Parallel and distributed computing
  • Scientific and engineering computing
  • Network security applications
  • Fingerprint /hand/biometrics recognitions and technologies
  • Pattern/image recognitions
  • Mobile computing
  • Complex systems: modelling and simulation
  • Artificial intelligence (A.I.)
  • Problem solving environments
  • Combinatorics, graph theory, and analysis of algorithms
