Call for papers: "Human-Robot Interaction"

For a special issue of the International Journal of the Digital Human.

Human-robot collaboration is the potential solution to numerous problems in manufacturing, the military, healthcare, disaster recovery and education. Effective and sustainable human-robot collaborations are achievable through seamless interactions between humans and robots supported by intuitive human-robot interface and well-considered interaction models and methods.

Human-robot interaction introduces multidimensional problems that require technical and human factor-related considerations. This special issue seeks papers on the development and evaluation of innovative solutions that improve the quality of interactions between humans and robots.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Human-robot interaction taxonomy
  • Human modelling in human-robot interaction
  • Natural language for human-robot interaction
  • Robots in complex environments, trajectories and interactions
  • Gestural interaction with robots
  • Multi-modal interaction with consideration of human factor
  • Attention models
  • Adjustable autonomy
  • Natural interfaces
  • Human-robot cooperation in team work
  • Case-studies in human-robot interaction
  • Robot communication
  • Safety in human-robot interaction
