Call for papers: Web Intelligence and Applications

A special issue of International Journal of Intelligent Information and Database Systems

Web intelligence explores the fundamental roles as well as practical impacts of artificial intelligence and advanced information technology on the next generation of web-related products, systems, and activities. As a direction for scientific research and development, web intelligence can be extremely beneficial for the field of artificial intelligence in many areas, such as e-learning, e-commerce, e-government and so on. Web intelligence is regarded as the key research field for the development of the wisdom web (including the semantic web).

This special issue on web intelligence provides an opportunity for international researchers and to present web intelligence technologies, to examine performance characteristics of various approaches in web-based intelligent information technology, and to cross-fertilize ideas on the development of web-based intelligent information systems among different domains. It will capture new models, new methodologies and new tools for building a variety of embodiments of web-based intelligent information systems. We also welcome web intelligence innovation applications.

Papers should address research questions in the area, including but not limited to the following topics:
  • Knowledge grids and grid intelligence
  • Semantics and ontology engineering
  • Social networks and social intelligence
  • Ubiquitous computing and web agents
  • Web information filtering and retrieval
  • Web mining and farming
  • Web security, integrity, privacy and trust
  • Web services and grid services
