Cloud computing has emerged as a de facto computing model, enabling software, infrastructure and information to be used as services over the network in an on-demand manner. Currently, both industry and high-resolution datasets allow for data-intensive decision-making at a level never before imagined.
This special issue aims to collect significant contributions addressing innovative ideas, emerging technologies, methods and solutions for cloud computing and big data.
The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 2nd International Symposium on Big Data and Cloud Computing Challenges 2015, but submissions from researchers not attending the conference are also welcome.
Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Cloud architecture
- Map reduce
- Security and privacy
- Cloud services and applications
- Virtualisation
- HPC on the cloud
- Big data science and foundations
- Big data infrastructure
- Big data management
- Big data search and mining
- Big data security and privacy
- Big data applications
- Hybrid clouds
- Interoperability in cloud computing
- Data management in the cloud
- Security in the cloud
