Call for papers: "Security and Privacy in Big Data"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Big Data Intelligence.

The proliferation of new technologies calls for innovative ideas to retrieve and integrate data from a large number of diverse data sources. Big data is an emerging paradigm applied to datasets whose volume/velocity/variability is beyond the ability of commonly used software tools to manage and process within an acceptable period of time.

Since big data involves a huge amount of data that is of high-dimensionality and inter-linkage, existing trust, security and privacy measures for traditional databases and infrastructures cannot satisfy its requirements. Novel technologies for protecting big data are therefore attracting the attention of more and more researchers and practitioners.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at IEEE TrustData 2015: International Workshop on Trust, Security and Privacy for Big Data, but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Trust
    • Trust semantics, metrics and models for big data
    • Trust management and evaluation for big data
    • Trusted systems, software and applications for big data
    • Trusted platform implementation technologies for big data
    • Information quality/trustworthiness for big data
