A special issue of International Journal of Intelligent Systems Technologies and Applications
Advances in mechatronics has lead to significant innovations and developments in fluid power control. The performance of fluid power components and systems can thus be promoted to new technical stages and applied more widely in many different industrial fields - from system integration, mobile machines, automation process equipment, process monitoring/control to nanoscale sensing and measurement.
The goal of this special issue is to publish new ideas and the most recent developments in fluid power technology as well as in the fields of naval architecture and marine and offshore engineering. Selected papers will be published from the 2nd International Forum of Systems and Mechatronics, 2007 (IFSM2007). One of the main focuses of the conference is to provide the opportunity for scholars from all over the world to discuss their academic programmes, identify research opportunities, and initiate joint research programmes in the area of mechatronics in fluid power and naval systems. However, the special issue is not limited to papers selected from the conference. It will accept submitted general papers on the topic, through the same general peer review processes.
The scope of the issue covers, but is not limited to:
- Applications of fluid power control systems
- New developments of fluid power components
- Energy-saving of fluid power control systems
- Water hydraulic control systems
- Electro- and magnet-rheolorical fluid technology
- Other important topics in fluid power systems
- Decision support systems for collaborative product lifecycle management
- Marine safety
- Design and construction
- Environment, loads and hydrodynamics
- Strength and fatigue
- Vibration and noise
- Manoeuvering and propulsion
- Materials and sandwich structures
- Reliability and risk based inspection
- Corrosion, coating, monitoring and detection
- Stability
Deadline for submission of manuscripts: 31 December 2007
Communication of peer reviews to authors: 31 March 2008
Deadline for revised manuscripts: 30 April 2008
