A special issue of International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology
As the demands for mechatronic devices and systems rapidly increase, the research in these areas, especially for transportation vehicles and underwater measurement, has expanded. The development of modern mechatronic technology has ignited innovation in electric machines in terms of topologies, driving and applications. Progress in robot technology has extended beyond automation of manufacturing industry and has proven to be applicable to such areas as healthcare, entertainment, security/patrol and home life.
The goal of this special issue is to publish new ideas and the most recent developments in mechatronic devices/systems for transportation vehicle as well as underwater vehicles, electrical machines and drive systems for applications to intelligent mechatronics, such as intelligent robots. Selected papers will be published from the 2nd International Forum of Systems and Mechatronics, 2007 (IFSM2007). One of the main focuses of the conference is to provide the opportunity for scholars from all over the world to discuss their academic programmes, identify research opportunities, and initiate joint research programmes in the area of advanced mechatronic systems. However, the special issue is not limited to papers selected from the conference. It will accept submitted general papers on the topic, through the same general peer review processes.
The scope of the issue covers, but is not limited to:
- High speed railway systems and aerospace systems their measurement devices
- Underwater vehicles, communication systems, and imaging systems
- Systems analysis
- PM machine design
- Special machines and their applications
- Motor drives
- Renewable energy
- Intelligent mechatronics for robotics and advanced vehicles (HEV & FCEV)
- Humanoid robots
- Mobile robots and manipulators
- Planning and navigation
- Human-robot interaction
- Visual servo or tracking
Deadline for submission of manuscripts: 31 December 2007
Communication of peer reviews to authors: 31 March 2008
Deadline for revised manuscripts: 30 April 2008
