Call for papers: "Advances in Measurement Science and Technology"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Materials and Product Technology.

Presently, it is possible to define measurement (the act of measuring) as “the assignment of a number to a characteristic of an object or event, which can be compared with other objects or events”. Measurement depends on the context and discipline but it is very important to the modern industry. Therefore, the development of new measurement techniques and associated instrumentation is also very important. This special issue will focus on the multidisciplinary areas of measurement science and technology and we invite the submission of high-quality research articles related to theory, practice and application.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Precision measurements
  • Signal processing
  • Industrial metrology
  • Metrics
  • Calibrations
  • Imaging and spectroscopy
  • Reliability
  • Sensors and actuators
  • Novel instrumentation systems
  • Uncertainly and standardisation
  • Surface metrology
  • Automation and robotics
  • Biomedical applications
  • Experimental techniques
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Materials testing
  • Modelling and simulation
  • Nanotechnology
  • Tribology

Important Dates
Submission of manuscripts: 30 June, 2017
Notification to authors: 30 September, 2017
Final versions due: 30 December, 2017

I want to submit a paper regarding the selection of grinding wheels in grinding of Titanium using liquid carbon dioxide coolant, with respect to forces, surface integrity and chip morphology. Is this topic within the scope of this special issue? The topic "Manufacturing processes" was listed.

Hi Arnab,

I'm afraid the deadline for submissions to this special issue passed on 30 June.

However, your article can be submitted for regular issues of the International Journal of Materials and Product Technology at any time. Please see www.inderscience.com/ijmpt for details of the journal's coverage and how to submit.

Kind regards,
Darren Simpson
