This special issue will present recent progress, ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of u- and e-service, science and technology, and will be an essential resource intended for academics, practitioners, scientists and engineers involved in and wishing to understand personal and ubiquitous computing and its implications. Its topics also cover new personal technologies; new developments in handheld, wearable and mobile information devices; and the emerging communications infrastructures that support them.
The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 2011 International Conference on u- and e- Service, Science and Technology (UNNEST 2011), but we also strongly encourage researchers who did not participate in the conference to submit papers for this call.
